Beatles Kill George Harrison

.............  Memorial Tree that is  .....

A pine tree was planted near Griffith Observatory in memory of George Harrison with a plaque reading:  “In memory of a great humanitarian who touched the world as an artist, a musician and a gardener.”

This was one of many trees in Griffith Park that have been killed by a bark beetle infestation. The George Harrison has been removed but along with all the other damaged trees, it will be replaced with another in the fall.

The original was an alogged up tree and taken away,

i hope the reissue tree isn't a digital remaster!

It will not be a digitised copy of ana-log as that will get corrupted again by more marauding beatles.  It will be transcoded to another format - not on the fly either as that will involve more insects - it will probably be reformed DSL.

The LA City Gardens Dept said its been a long & winding road looking for a suitable species,  we've looked into some of the more tolerant Norwegian wood cultivars, we've taken a trip to Carolina, Kansas City & Memphis Tennessee but with a little help from our friends I'm sure we can work it out.

I'm certain it was these beetles

and not one of these Beatles

that killed the George Harrison tree .

A suitable replacement could be found and transplanted somewhere along Blue Jay Way, less than ten miles from the park.
