Time to get the gunpowder out again methinks

All the best, Guy

Hopefully buying through Amazon Market Place circumvents such nonsense - why not make those who caused the mess pay the bill - people have been burnt on a bonfire for less than those investment bankers did.

And don't forget the £8 handling charge the Post Office add when import duty is charges - OUCH!

Ridiculous, how I long for my days in Oz where only imports above AUD1000 were subject to VAT and duty.

Import tax - vat etc with Post Office surcharge do not affect purchases from within EU countries (to the UK)

Apparently the import tax risk is only when buying from outside the EU (and over £15)

hope i'm correct with this

Never really objected to paying the duty, but that bloody Post Office charge has always seemed excessive.  After all, what do they actually do for it?
