Airplay to an Airport Express is the first thing I thought of.  Or you could use a Bluetooth solution.

Struggling to see a bluetooth solution, but perhaps. Express is the way to go if you have IOS, not sure whats out there for PC/Android affairs.

Gary, something like the Rocketfish bluetooth receiver would work I believe.  Pair it to the Macbook.  Output options from the Rocketfish include digital (optical) and analog (I think it's a mini headphone connector, but an adaptor to provide RCA L and R leads is included.  It may well sound 'good enough' for relatively lossy source material, and it's cheap comparitively.

so presumably the op would then need a computer at the qute end, you might need to mention that

Thanks for you're posts, i'm going for airport express into the back of my uniti and then i've found this software for the mac, airfoil (http://www.rogueamoeba.com/airfoil/mac/). I haven't tried it all yet, i'll report back. Cheers Tim

No just a Macbook which he owns, as the bluetooth (or AirPlay) sender, and a Rocketfish (or Airport Express) at the Uniti end.
