UQ or ND5 XS

Can anyone offer an opinion on whether there is much to be gained from an upgrade from a unitiqute (as a source) to a ND5 XS? These would be used into nac 72/hicap/250. I don't buy that if it is more expensive so must be better - I recently borrowed a Uniti and was appaled at how bad it was, if the difference in the UQ/ND5 is night and day then I'll take a look.

I have a ND5 XS into a Nait XS-2 and had a demo of this against the Uniti 2 and SU, the ND5 is a long way ahead of the Uniti 2, so presumably will be a considerable improvement over a UQ.

The ND5 XS shares more DNA with the NDX than it does with the Unity series (e.g. using the SHARC DSP in the digital control of the DAC), and in my view it shows in the resultant sound quality.

Definitely go and have a demo of them to see what you think.

What speakers are you using?  Are they good enough to reveal the much high level of detail?

I have Epos ES14's

Then I definitely think you'd benefit from the greater SQ of the ND5.  Those Epos speakers may not be everyone's taste but in many peoples' opinion have a lot of good qualities, and will show the differences.
