The Allman Brothers Band

Posted by: AntonD on 08 August 2014

Hi Everyone

I have 'At Fillmore East' and love it!

I realise they released many albums. Can the fans out there point me in the right direction, say the next 4 albums that I should have?

Many thanks in advance

Anton

'The Allman Brothers Band', 'Idlewild South', 'Eat a Peach' and 'Brothers and Sisters' are all classic Allman Brothers albums.

Try Hittin the Note from their later stuff.

Would definitely go along with Steve J's selection.

I haven't heard 'Hitting the Note', but will rectify that now!

Eat A Peach is definitely the next purchase, probably followed by Brothers & Sisters.

There is also a double album set called Beginnings which is their first 2 albums (The eponymous first album & Idlewild South) combined into one:

ANYTHING from when Duane was alive is a can't miss. The live stuff on Hittin' the Note can also be found on Amazon, so check for who has the best price.

Also strong recommendations for the Live albums from Stonybrook, Atlanta International Pop Festival, Boston Commons, American University, and the live radio appearance from A&R Studios is outstanding as well.

Also the 2 Duane Allman Anthology albums are very good.
