Kindle Audiobooks

Last week I downloaded a couple of Terry Pratchett unabridged Audiobooks from iTunes (they were 2/3 of the price shown on Amazon!). They originate from Audiobooks.com AFAICS, and each book its divided into only 2 files, each of several hours length. I can't even split the files using Audacity, as they are protected AAC 64bit files.
Very annoying, and I just hope that the Radio in the BMW 3 manages to remember (bookmark) where I am, as scrolling through to find the same point after switching off would be VERY annoying. Which moron decided that a >10 hour Audiobook should be in the form of only 2 files?
