No, not Robin Williams!

What a strange year.
Shit...one of the good guys in an industry with precious few.
Back in private practice I had several patients who worked in the movie industry in supporting roles. (One was a set painter - in fact he painted Forrest Gump's bench.) I would ask who the nice people were, as well as the jerks. Robin Williams was in every one of their good lists.
Yes, very sad. A real character and apparently a nice guy, too.
Never had a comedian make me laugh harder then he did. So inventive and quick-witted, he was brilliant in his own, weird, wonderful way. He was also a damn good actor.
I recall him being interviewed not too long ago, and talking about depression and drug addiction. But he gave the impression that was all behind him. Such a shock to read that he has now committed suicide. Terrible news...very sad.
Really sad news. He'll probably be joining Bill Hicks somewhere, do some "stuff" together and have a damn good laugh.
R.I.P.
Very sad news that Robin Williams sucummbed to his battle with deppression. A terrible disease that has taken the lives of so many great artists. Mrs. Doubtfire was pure genius ! "I'm melting like a snow cone in Phoenix " ..... RIP Robin Williams
Extraordinary in the movie Good Will Hunting - a fine actor indeed.
An original undoubtedly but I found him a strange on-screen presence. Capable of making me laugh for sure but also with a fragility and hypomanic intensity that always made me fear for his mental health.
'The Fisher King' is a favourite movie of ours, and combined with the marginal sanity of Terry Gilliam I think he is as good in this as in anything else.
Bruce
Such a terrible shame. Poor man to be so tortured by depression. A comic genius; I shall be looking up some of his stand-up routines later and remembering him with great affection.
Shazbat!.
A comedy genius and like many before him a depressive. It appears he was off the drugs,(cocaine) but still drinking which may well be worse.
RIP Robin, thanks for ALL the laughs.
Man goes to doctor. Says he's depressed. Says life seems harsh and cruel. Says he feels all alone in a threatening world, where what lies ahead is vague and uncertain. Doctor says the treatment is simple. The great clown Terrifini is in town tonight. Go and see him. That should pick you up. Man bursts into tears: "But doctor . . . I am Terrifini."
R.I.P Robin.
