Connecting an Oppo105/D to Naim

Posted by: rohit on 02 September 2014

1. What cable do you recommend/use to connect it's 2-channel balanced RCA (or XLR) outputs into Naim amplification ?

2. Do you connect it to your NAC or NAP ?

3. Anything specific worth noting when connecting to a 52/250 ?

Thanks in advance,

rohit

Sorry that should've read "balanced XLR output" since RCA is SE.

So the RCA2DIN seems doable, but anyone used XLR into Naim ?

Dr. Dever,

I see you mention of KanexPro HAECOAX (audio de-embedder) if used with the HDMI o/p from a 103/D ? Can you describe the hookup into Naim (52/250) ? Thanks.

Hi Rohit,

Why would you want to use the balanced outputs - that's not supported by the 52 is it?

I have not owned or used a 52 but I believe it does have unity gain?

I have the Oppo connected using the SE outputs to 2 x 250 for my rear and centre.

The front does via my Bel Canto pre, using their version of unity gain, using my SE input - not the balanced.

The cables were made for me by Chord.

Oppo 105D acts as the pre-amp and it works a treat, better than the AV2.

Hope this assists.
