Curiouser & curiouser

Just downloaded 'CSNY 1974' from Qobuz as lossless FLAC and copied the folder onto the NAS with all my other music.

Now, on the iPad nserve sees the album art and all the tracks but when I press 'play' - nothing.

If I go into the Twonky on the PC it sees the album and I can 'play to the NDX' from there. If I do this then nstream shows the tracks playing as 'PCM' and I can control 'play' & 'stop' but there is no album art or 'play queue' on the iPad.

Anyone know what's going on here?

Thanks

Graeme

Trying to stream from Qobuz this morning isn't working either . Very annoying  , both from my Roomplayer and from Qobuz desktop . Not sure what is up , every other service I use is up and running .

Did you use their download program or via Qobuz Desktop ?

Hi Graeme,

I have downloaded at least a couple of dozen albums from Qobuz and by & large they have all been fine. there were however 2 exceptions to this. Both of these albums appeared to have downloaded ok, but one album (a classical album) with 15 or so tracks had around 10 or so tracks that just would not play. The other album (a hi res version of 'Hotel California') also appeared to have downloaded OK but just would not play at all (and the album art wasn't present on nstream or Kinsky.

I contacted Qobuz who responded very quickly asking me to delete the albums from my download folder and download them again using their download manager. This time, both albums were fine. I have had no problems since then.

I would suggest you try doing this, & if no joy contact Qobuz support. They appear to be very good!

Good luck!

Hmack.

Thanks - I kept trying to redownload but it wouldn't let me.

DBPoweramp wouldn't let me convert the files to FLAC (missing codec it say's) however 'Switch Sound' free file converter let me do it ...track by track!

Playing from nstream ok now.

Qobuz having a hangover thismorning meethinks.

Graeme, Hmack,

I have noticed that there can be very occasionally  glitches in the download - when the download is paused or interrupted. As said the only way I have found to resolve is to delete and and redownload - touch wood no issues so far with this.

I get the same when downloading movies to my Sky STB....

Hi Graeme, you can't re-download directly using their download manager'. However, if you delete the album from your downloader, then log into Qobuz, and select the 'My music' option from the login dropdown, you should be able to re-schedule an automatic download in whatever  format you want.

You can do this as many times as you need (in any format).

Graeme,

I meant to say 'delete the album from your download folder' (not from your downloader).

It is a more flexible system than HDT. I've had two broken downloads and fixed them like this. First thing I do to any download is strip put all the tags and start again. Past incomplete files (rare), it's usually the tags that muck everything up.

Thanks - that's hepful.

I've had a good few albums from qobuz in the past and this is the first problem I've enountered.

It would be a triple album with 40 individual tracks of course! And at €23.50 it wasn't cheap.

Very good though (thanks CBR600)

I have a feeling there was a very slight interruption during the download so that probably explains it. Although why the tracks would all revert to PCM is a mystery to me.
