Any chance to see a HDX II with
HDD capacity > 2TB
USB-out
DSD support
etc?
(Aurender X/S, Digibit, Amare Music Server- looking very interesting...)

How about an empty (but fillable) full-width box with the green light/logo and a nice quiet linear supply. The Universal Digital Everyman System. UnDiES for short.
I look forward with interest to what Naim offers in the server space in the future. Having demoed an HDX in my original 112/150 system, I have never been inclined to throw any rocks at it. Especially with a PowerLine, it certainly gave satisfaction and "wow sound" in a complete, well-thought-out package, perfect for those wanting a complete server/streamer in one Naim box. nServe is very nice; I wish I could use it. Of course there are cheaper alternatives; but, if you have the money, it is unique and very nice.
I didn't buy it because I am more of a tinkerer, and find playing with all of the bits entertaining. That said, I have to admit I get tired of all of the computerish issues cropping up unbidden, even on the beloved Mac. The list of niggles is long and dull, but mostly involve prompts for updates that stop the show, and software incompatibilities and feature failures that take more time than I have to resolve, despite my enthusiasm to do so. One example on the Mac Mini is that iTunes locks up if I run Spotify/SpotRemote, Logitech Media Server, BitPerfect and XLD. Not sure which pieces are a problem together, but I have given up on iTunes on that box and all is now well. Another annoyance is Spotify Playlists no longer work on my Squeezebox Touch, with offered solutions getting me nowhere. The reason I keep the SBT is only because it is the best at streaming from the Internet, especially Avro Baroque 27-7 -- the NDX fails to do this without dropouts.
No system or product is perfect.

Nick,
Did you get your active 600's set up yet?
Hi, Chris. Confusing me with a different Nick? I do KEF Q-50s, Allaes, and Nautilus 805s in rotation at the moment. No plan to go active here.
Nick
Sorry mixed you up with another fellow in Seattle.
