Do you have Blind Faith?

Here is a truly hilarious video about blind faith

'Faith is the great cop-out, the great excuse to evade the need to think and evaluate evidence' - Richard Dawkins.

You certainly are right about NHL, and thanks for the encouragement. We met many folks who were dealing with their own version of this nightmare while we were involved with my illness, and I'm the only survivor out of the whole group. The majority died long ago...

Jerry Coyne - part bigot part moron. The answer to your question is that many of these journals are run by old school materialists.

Erwin Schrödinger, a 'founding father' of quantum mechanics, in his
1944 book What is Life, referred to those who held such a materialist-reductionist view of the origins of life and consciousness as “bankrupts of rationalism.”

Why does everything with you have to involve a conspiracy theory? You're saying Shapiro couldn't find a single scientific journal that would give his work a fair reading? Makes no sense.

Believe what you want, but scientific progress depends on the communication of information that can be trusted, and the peer review process is a vital part of that system.

Why are creationists attached to the world and universe being created in 7 days?. Other religions or branches of religions are quite relaxed about evolution as they are comfortable with God setting the whole process in motion at the beginning. A creationist world view requires a huge amount of mental gymnastics to justify and flys in the face of  the vast majority of scientific  thinking. It can make the creationists look like a bunch of rabid nongs(kiwi expression) and discredits Christianity in its simplistic and anti- intellectual approach .

Hi Kiwi,

I pretty much agree with all your observations there. I don't have any time for Creationism and Christian Fundamentalism (for example) has to be the very bottom rung on the religious ladder in my view.

Hi Hook ,

you are asking me a question that I can't possibly answer. I don't know why Shapiro does not (allegedly) submit work for peer review anymore than Coyne does. Personally I find Coyne to be a particularly slippery customer and ignorant. Whether Shapiro submits work to journals is irrelevant to me - he is correct in what he says in the quote  provided so if you think he is wrong then tell me why or let Coyne do it for you by quoting Coyne but I'm not interested in Coyne's ad hominems.

The issue is - is there any evidence (any evidence at all) that a species (even one) has ever evolved into a separate species as per Darwin and Dawkins. If there is no evidence then Darwinian evolution is mere speculation and not the science fact it is cracked up to be and poking fun at religion (no matter how just) is simply a deflection from that reality.

Many in the scientific community have moved on from Darwin but Dawkins and his Ultra Darwinists (DUDs) ares till mired in 19th century science speculation and they get away with it by repeating the BIG LIe so often it gets believed.

Hook,

by the way re. conspiracy theories - if you don't believe me then believe these two respected scientists -  http://quantumenigma.com/ they explain the situation in some detail.

Only this morning I noticed this -
