HDX and Qute2 multiroom

Just wondered if anyone at Naim could comment on this.

I know that my Qute2 can use multiroom and can search for other streamers, but it cannot use multiroom to work with the HDX as its a server.

Seems a shame as i can play the HDX and qute, and it would be nice to be able to link the Qute to sync same music.

Any chance this could be done in a future software update, as it would be a nice option

You'd need another (192-kHz capable) Qute or Qute 2, as there is no shared software between NDx / Uniti and HDX / UnitiServe devices to enable synchronized zones.

The 192-kHz capability requirement insures that firmware version 3.22 will work on your device, which will unicast-proxy a 320 kbps MP3 stream in frame sync to other devices on the network. You can still select music from the HDX via n-Stream from the master proxy Qute.

Thanks David. I already use the music on the HDX and its NAS drive to feed the qute.

My query was about future potential to sync the 2 units as i understood Naim were working towards a single software to unite the serve and stream software

I believe that was on the app (control) side, not the core application (different software / OS / processor) on the devices themselves.
