n-Stream: buy an iPad or an Andorid tablet?

Posted by: bicela on 27 September 2014

Dear All,
I would use the n-Stream features, I've newer used before neither iPad mini nor Android tablet, which one you suggests me to buy (as finally now we have also n-Stream app for Android)?
Notice that I will use mainly for Naim, I have already a PC I use for all the rest of working and home activities.
Last option is to upgrade my BlackBerry to an iPhone 5, but I guess n-Stream is not so comfortable on so small display (for booklet reading as example).
Any recommends is more than welcome, grazie, ciao, Maurizio

If you've got a BB10-capable BlackBerry phone, you could try the Android version....

No, mine is a Curve... Old school :-) Thank you anyway

If you are going to use it mainly for Naim I would go for an Android tablet. It works really well on my 7" Nexus 7.

IPads are great (we have 3) but an unnecessary extravagance if you just need a remote.

I've used both and I wouldn't swap my cheap Android tablet for an iPad. Apart from controlling my hifi, the only other use I have for a tablet is when I am travelling. Android tablets can take exchangeable SD cards meaning you can take as much music, videos etc. as you want for minimal cost. iPads have fixed and ridiculously expensive storage - deal breaker for me, YMMV.

I never found anything the iPad was better at, Android every time for me.

Agreed, I have both, a Galaxy Note 10.1 and an Ipad 2. Until recently the only things I have used the latter for is to control my Naim and as a diary and email for work. My Samsung is far more usable imo

Well fair play I hadn't realised that. I have flirted with the android world with my previous phone, a samsung s3, but despite all its apparant advantages over iphones such as memory card, great screens, replaceable batteries etc, it was in effect a laggy rubbish phone that couldn't even play music properly without skipping (actually it was ok until I updated to a newer version of android). I'm sure other android phones are fine, but I have returned to the apple fold For my phone. I have always used ipad for nstream, and it works fine.
