Unitilite - headphone output - amp

Hi all,

Am looking for your advice - a few weeks back I was gifted a good set of headphones (Beyerdynamic T5P) but have no real experience with headphones.

While this particular headphone is said to be portable (low impedance) - it works OK on a laptop, and have also tried it on the unitilite, and am not  noticing a significant difference in sound quality.

In order to hear a medium loudness I have to go up to 50% Volume.

My question:

Is the headphone output on the unitilite sufficient, or would a headphone amp be necessary?
