Is there a Superuniti desktop client?
Posted by: Dunstan on 19 October 2014
Having googled around for quite some time I can't seem to find any way of controlling my Superuniti from my windows desktop pc. I've got the iPad app but this is not always readily available and it would be handy to be able to select and play music or iRadio from my desktop.
Are there any solutions out there?
Thanks

Have you tried the solutions in this thread?
Yes, Namote from Beeka (Steve) is a perfectly formed little programme. It's not a Naim App replacement but is great for basics such as volume control and radio station selection.
It works with NDX too, albeit with limitations. I just use it to change inputs - NAS, iRadio, USB, FMTuner & will select the iRadio list of preset stations. When working in the study with my 2nd system it saves me going to the main system to change radio stations.
Thanks for the heads up, Andrew. Hadn't come across that thread yet, very useful.
Edit: and of course thanks to Beeka, should he see this thread.
Thanks for the link. I actually did come across it in my googling but thought there might be a more complete product out there. I have now loaded Namote on my Windows 8.1 all-in-one desktop tablet thing from Dell and it runs fine although I had to enter the IP address manually and presumably that will change if I reboot the Superuniti (which I don't do very often).
Anyway, for a few basic controls and changing to something other than radio paradise it works fine.
Job done. Much appreciated,
David
If you go into the settings on your router it's usually pretty easy to assign a fixed IP address to anything on the network. I've got my NAS and my streamers on fixed addresses and it does make things easier.
Now that there is an Naim Android App, you can run an Android emulator on a PC..I have tried YouWave as an emulator and it works fine (although I have had limited time to fully pressure test it).

Agreed.

Sir, you are a genius.
I've spent the last couple of hours running the app on my Windows 7 laptop and it works like a dream. My only gripe is that the artwork is low resolution, but it's the same on my tablet. Thanks again for the suggestion.
