RIPJack Bruce

It is with great sadness that we, Jack’s family, announce the passing of our beloved Jack: husband, father, granddad, and all round legend. The world of music will be a poorer place without him, but he lives on in his music and forever in our hearts.

Very sad news indeed, another of my boyhood heroes passes. Thank you for the music, we still have that to enjoy.

The BBC have reported it here:

Sad news met him way back in 67 and he was a true gentleman at that time.

That's really sad news. A fine musician and a favourite bass player. RIP Jack.

RIP Jack.  His bass playing inspired many, he leaves behind a legacy of music which will be enjoyed for years to come.

I was so pleased that Cream reformed for their RAH concerts and we got the chance to appreciate Jack's unique bass playing and vocal style again.

He inspired many with some great bass playing and a fantastic voice I will never forget.

RIP

Awesome musician.   The 3 of them in Cream created so much tension but inspired their best work   Glad they managed the reunion when they did.

In terms of live performances Cream were a tad before my time but I saw him with West Bruce and Laing a few years later.

A loss to  the music world of a major character.

I saw Cream twice, Jack Bruce Band once  and yes he was one of the greatest bass guitarists I have ever seen.
