Hi Folk,

For technical question, can use firmware to revise the DSP code on streamer make more better sound ?

Cheers,

In my experience it can change the sound. Some agree, some don't.

Yes it can affect the sound (for the better or for the worse depending on your priorities), by, amongst other things, altering the digital filtration of the DAC system.

Yes as Harry and Huge have said, DSP code changes can affect the sound produced. The actual code is I understand quite straightforward, but its the way and timing of how the code executes that appears to affect the signature of the noise on the internal powerlines and ground planes that affects the sensitive electronics and digital clocks.

In principle, to me,  this is similar to why some people prefer WAV decode to FLAC.

So although the top level DSP algorithm might not be changed - its execution and timing can subtly affect the audio produced, when the code is recompiled and linked.

Full of clicks, pops thumps, transient pre echo, transient distortion and end of side distortion? Hope not.
