Steve roach - Jorge Reyes

just bought the album " The Ancestor Circle '. It's description of what it's about is quite interesting in that the artists are channelling the shamanic , medicine man , " music that sets the reset button'. Tribal cathartic vibe.., Steve Roach and Jorge Heyes have from what I have read from t'net been making this type of music from late 70s.

Anyone know other music from these artists from this time that's worth listening.

Thanks

Jorge Reyes (Mexican), who died a few years ago, made some interesting ethnic ambient a while ago. There is a triple CD called Prehispanic Music (or similar), which covers his first 3 discs. They still sound fine. His later music has lost its appeal on me.

Steve Roach. Well he's got about a thousand discs out there. Droned out-new age, dark ambient. For many he's the master of this sort of thing. Back in my ambient phase (90s) I used to own Quiet Music, Magnificent Void and Strata which I would recommend as entry points. IMO his music has dated quite a bit. I would seek entries to this genre elsewhere (e.g. Eno/Hassell 4th World, etc)
