UnitiServe - which app?

Posted by: AlexWard on 28 March 2011

Hello all,

Long time reader. First time poster.

Joined the Naim world a few months ago with a Supernait. Then added a Hicap 2.

Just collected a UnitiServe from my friendly local dealer.

Looking to add an NDX and UnitiQute in the future.

Which app do I need to get from the App Store?

Hi,

the n-Stream App should work well. It is supporting the NDX streamer and the unitis too.

Thanks so much. I will download it now...

n-serve will control a Unitiserve, n-stream will not. I'm pretty certain you need n-serve.

For controlling uniti serve you need n-serve, for controlling the NDX or unitiqute as mentioned, you will need the n-stream App. It depends on your requests.

Hmm, having no luck with n-Stream. Is that £22 up the spout?

Getting n-Serve now.

Alex,

Send the bill to AKa.  He owes you $22.

Hi Alex:

n-Serve: HDX and UnitiServe

n-Stream: NDX, NaimUniti and UnitiQute

Hope this helps...

Regards,

Michel

He asked for the correct app for Serve.  You told him nStream?????

Well it worked in the end. Was worried for a bit though.

Unitiserve into Hicapped Supernait was mindblowing. Far better than I thought it would be.

Simply fantastic.

And now I have the app all ready for the Qute in a few months.

Alex,

PS Audio's TagnPlay app allows you to control both the Serve and the Qute. The app sees all UPnP servers and playback devices on your network, which provides for some interesting combinations, such as streaming from your Serve to your iPod ; handy for late night listening. At only $10 dollars from the app store, it's cheap and fun.
