Technics to open Hi-Res download store in 2015

Set to open in 2015 it looks as if yet another company [Technics] is preparing to offer Hi-Res downloads. If the quote is correct they plan to open "with tens of thousands of tracks encoded in 24-bit FLAC'". Will more competition in the Hi-Res download market drive prices down?

No because HiRes is thought of as premium product it will remain at a high price.

Just what we want another downloading thingy.

What no complaints yet the NAIM haven't integrated it into all the products yet?

I anticipate that it'll be all, (maybe mostly, but probably all) the same content available elsewhere.

One could hope that the expanding number of outlets would generate some price competition, but I suspect that none of these outlets wants that and so us consumers will see no benefit.

Other than that . . . . HOORAY!
