Mu-so App

Posted by: djcoco on 23 November 2014

Hello guys!

Has anyone just install two Naim apps to control Mu-so on two or more different devices? Is it possible? I've read on the manual that Mu-so will recognize the first one to connect, and leave the second without answer, until you disconnect the first one. Is it correct?

You can only use one at a time, unfortunately.

Yes, I was thinking something like that, and it seems also quite reasonable. But I was wondering if, for example in a family, if you are not using the muso, someone else can access with another device. Specifically, I've got an iPad, and my brother has got a Samsung Galaxy Note, but it seems that switching from one to the other just crushes the system, and the tablet doesn't recognize any room precedently added at all.

I cannot check this properly now as the Mu-so, after a test, has been put away until it becomes a present. However I have installed the app on both my iPhone and an iPad and both were able to control the Mu-so sequentially. I think that once I added the Mu-so to the app on the devices, the app controlled it in the absence of any other app which had established a connection. In fact my phone had a JL Mu-so installed as I had tried it in the shop. I had to install my Mu-so as a new and different one. Could your problem be something to do with switching from IOS to Android?

It's a traditional response with no insult intended. At least I gave the link to the manual and the page.

Lacking a certain warmth or empathy, I'd say. Possibly forgetting where you've come from  and that you were new to Naim once?!

Hello guys!

thanks for your replies!

Yes, I'm a new customer, new to a forum and new to Naim too.

Since I was studying in Conservatoire I had a teacher who had many complete naim systems, and I fell in love with this legendary sound...

I've already read the manual, that's why I knew about sequencing installation. However problem still remains, because the Android (it could be the different operating system or some wi-fi options..) doesn't connect at all. One time, I added the room manually, with the address and everything, and got the samsung connected, but then it seems that the iPad went in conflict when I disconnected the samsung.

Right now I've reset the Muso, and performed a new installation for the iPad only, but I'll look forward to try some other stuff inside my wi-fi router as well.

In the meantime if anyone finds something useful, I'll really appreciate!

btw page 15 is about the remote control . I was looking for the Naim App on more than one device.

Another thought which may be completely irrelevant as I have no experience of Android. I tried streaming audio files from my MacBook to the Mu-so and the only way it would connect was if I turned off the firewall (iTunes helpfully pointed this out!). I posted about this above as I wondered how to get round it - I don't want the firewall off. I wonder if there is some security setting in Android that is preventing  communication with the Mu-so.
