Mu-so has died.

I've had problems with the internet radio with it dropping in and out of signal. If i went round the pre-sets or went back to the station it would be fine, then would happen again. Thought it might be the wi-fi so i wired ethernet and thought this would cure it, it seemed fine at first but then it happened again. I had the naim app on my tv android box and it went to an update, but it froze half way through, but i left it for a while but nothing, then the android box came out of the app. The mu-so had a very faint bottom LED on the dial but now it's all dead. Could someone help please.
My Muso and NDX both have a wired connection and the Internet Radio for both has the spottiest connection… drop outs are fairly common in my experience. Oddly, I don't get drop outs with any other streamed material… even NAS based 24/192 streams fine. No issues with Spotify or Songza or anything else really.. just iRadio.
Super - does everything else work, such as streaming, Spotify, the Bluetooth connection? If so it has to be a network issue. Have you tried fixing the muso' IP address?
Super, I hope the latest unit will be just fine. Have you already tried wireless setup instead? If not go on wifi connection, it's easy to configure and let's see if flaky iRadio reception continues.
Hal, tried it on the wi fi connection and it still drops out, maybe not as bad.

Hungryhalibut, yes I have tried spotify from my i- pad and that is fine. Also tried music from my usb sticks and that is fine also.
When you say Spotify from your iPad, do you mean you are using the muso's inbuilt Spotify connect ie you are pressing the little green speaker in the Spotify app?
Super do you get radio drop-outs on all stations? Because it might just be the stations, some are flaky but the big 'uns tend to be solid.
Is it solid on upnp?
Wired is the best way to go, I can't see that wi-fi has any advantages, unless of course, you can't use a wired connection.

It's the spotify from the I-pad, the spotify on the naim app just say "no track playing" because there's nothing there.

It drops out on wired Ethernet or wi-fi. I'm changing the channels on the super hub and it still drops out On wi-fi.

You have to expect the odd hiccup on iRadio, some of these guys are very amateur after all. But I have to say that just listening to ones which are 256-320k I get very few problems. Are you listening to some of the odd trance ones below 128k?
Just to confirm, am I right in say that upnp is solid? Because if it is that would eliminate most of the network connections. In network terms the only real difference in iRadio & upnp is that one comes from your internet router and the other from your NAS and of course iRadio is mainly mp3 rather than NAS.
You mention Spotify, can I assume you are not connecting to iRadio on your iPad and then beaming it in some Appley (Air Waves, Mustang Sally Boom or similar) way to the Muso. No I am sure you are talking about iRadio on the Muso directly!!!
I think I've cracked it (not literally). I've been changing the hub channel on the master router which does effect the extension router which is very near the mu so. I've reset the mu so to wi fi off the furthest router and it's not dropped out for a long while. So seems the mu so does not like a too strong signal, as weird as it sounds. I will be monitoring it further, thanks guys for your help and giving me ideas.
I thought I had caught your disease Super. I was sat there listening to "I'm a Road Runner Honey", a live track on Who's Next Bonus Issue and it kept getting to a certain point and then just stopping, No whirly arrow thing, just nothing playing at all. It kept doing it at exactly the same point!
What the hell is going, my whole system has been stable for ages now, it just doesn't do this!
Checked loads of things and no luck.
Then it suddenly occurred to me; I was playing a Live track by itself without the following track. Maybe one track goes into the next. Yes of course it does - what a plonker I am.
Please don't tell anyone Super. Is that stupid or is it stupid!
Big bill, when you say you caught my disease, you mean my stupid disease ? You're okay, I won't say anything. I'm still listening to the I-radio and it seems to be okay now...happy listening.
Third time lucky! Well done.
So does this mean that the first replacement was ok but not set up properly?
Ha! Ha! As soon as I decided to make this post from the iPad that is playing Spotify, it interrupted momentarily the playback of my music. Never mind, I am enjoying Beggars Banquet through my Muso and all I can say is that it reproduces faithfully the imperfections of anything I choose to play through it. If the recording is good I get great reproduction, but if the recording is not so good I certainly get to know that as well. As to Beggars Banquet, it is not the best recording by far, no matter how much I love the music. Even Statement cannot restate imperfection, but Muso identifies what is good and bad at a very budget price and restatement at a premium price will make no difference other than emphasis.
Good to hear that Super. Enjoy the new kit.

Hungryhalibut, thank you, i've got to admit you were the one that got me thinking about changing the channel number on the hub. Some months ago i had a similar problem with a laptop that would drop in and out of signal on wi-fi and i contacted virginmedia and they told me what to do. So the bottom line of this story is if anyone is having dropouts from your hub/router, try changing the frequency channel. Just put in your browser on your tablet/pc 192.168.0.1 (in my case) and go from there. I don't understand why it was dropping out on a wired ethernet connection though. Thanks everyone for your help and advice.

Excellent well done. Interference of some sort. I have heard other people have had the same issue and solved it in the same way but I have never experienced it at home myself. Perhaps you live near someone polluting the ether (sorry Albert, although it will please Isaac) - a hospital etc.
Guess I an lucky that the 'Auto' setting has always worked.
