Starting up with my Unityserve

Posted by: Tommis on 30 November 2014

I recently purchased a second hand Unityserve which unfortunately needed some repair thus I have not been able to start exploring the unit. Now,  before I start doing anything - I think I read somewhere that you should set up metadata structure before starting ripping --- or something of that sort. Is this relevant when using the Unityserve or is this only if you did the process using conventional PC's? Is it as simple as "shove it in and off you go?"

OK guys hold on for the latest question - when I use the unit as a CD player only --- where is the eject function? Do I really need to play till the very end to get the unit to spit out the CD?

mmm, there must be a way to do it I guess.

I dont use mine as a CD player so Im not too sure, but I just had a go.

The only way I could find to do it was to fast forward through the ttracks using the App (change in settings to Ripping Off, then click on Device and the Playing button in the top right hand corner).

You can then seek 2 time throughthe track to the end, and when it gets to the end the disk ejects.

Maybe there is another way though...

Thanks for trying - surely there must be a smarter way than playing or fast-forwarding - surely .... just haven't found it yet ....

I imagine a brief touch on the logo would do it.

But why use it as an overpriced CD transport when the ripped version via ethernet sounds better.
