US SSD: Music Store suddenly turned into Music Share - can I switch back?
Posted by: MichaelSch on 01 December 2014
For some unknown reason my Music Store suddenly turned into a Music Share ...
My equipment is UnityServe SSD + Synology NAS and I have (had) one Music Store and a few Music Shares. There are almost 900 CDs stored in the Music Store.
I dare not just switch it back without getting a bit of advice here - I am afraid that pressing the "Use as Store" button in my n-Serve app (I run Mac) will do harm to the Store and all 900 CDs are lost.
I have done some testing, by creating an new Share and press "Use as Store" button. Then it switches fine. Then, I switch back by pressing "Use as Share" - it turns into a Share fine enough, but deletes the "control.ini" file in the root of the Share/Store, which was created when it was switched into a Store.
Strangely enough my 900 CD Store, which is now a Share still has the "control.ini" file in its root directory. Now, what happens if I switch this back into a Store?
Can I do that safely without corrupting the entire library?
Thanks,
