Problem with CP2101 USB to UART Bridge controller (mac)

Mac Yosemite problem: I can't update my  ND5XS because the NAIM updater doesn't list the UART Bridge Controller. When checking the USB port in 'My Mac>Hardware USB the driver doesn't show. A new install of the driver software works OK but even now I can't see the driver. Is this my local problem or a general Yosemite problem?
