Forum page breaks

Is it just me or have you noticed that lately you often get a blank top-of-page when you click on a response? You then have to go to the previous page and scroll to the bottom to see the response you were after.

It's a bit annoying and happens notably in the "What are you listening to ..." thread. A new page is loaded (blank), but it seems six or seven more responses will post on the previous page before the true page break is inserted. I haven't noticed this to this degree in the past.

Yes joe it seems to be more and more prevalent.

Another "new" hopeless feature?

I keep getting that; it's most irritating.

Yes + 1 here

I queried this some months back and it was surmised then that it was as a result of 'invisible' posts in moderation that may be causing the glitch.

I wasn't convinced then and also notice it is becoming more prevalent.

Graeme I remember you posting that. If you look though mostly it's looks like the last post that is quoted as being the last unread post, so maybe it's not moderated posts.

Perhaps mods can give us some information?

It often happens when there are posts awaiting moderation approval.  However, it also seems to afflict some of the very long threads.  The difficulty is finding what the cause might be.  The "What are you listening to.." thread will be closed at the end of the year and a new thread begun, as usual.  I'll be interested to see at what point the problem begins again - if it ever does.

Richard,

Thanks for your response. Hopefully the new thread will perform better, as you say, and we won't be in the same position later next year as the pages mount. We'll see.
