Is Neil Young Or His Record Company Extracting The Urine ?

£75.99 for this album to pre-order on double vinyl ???

Posted on: 12 December 2014 by Steve J

Yes IMO they are, especially when the equivalent CD version is £13.99.

For sure I blame the Shoreditch hipsters

Posted on: 12 December 2014 by SamS

Or you could blame Daryl Hannah (David Crosby does).

Neil apparently needs to fund a divorce, Pono, LincVolt, and a large payroll on his ranch.

The beauty of course is that Neil couldn't give a flying F*&K about what anyone thinks and follows only his muse, and that is what we love about him.

I bought the album because my OCD makes me a completionist, but I wasn't that impressed and struggle to see its full value at GBP 14, let alone 76.

I blamed them before it was fashionable to blame them.

I've ordered Storytone when the price dropped for a day to GBP44 (it was GBP103 initially!!), but I'm seriously thinking of cancelling this order as I don't find the album so great really.

Well he has to fund his non oil based transportation...

Also if buying from the Amazon uk, this site http://uk.camelcamelcamel.com will help you tell if you are paying over the odds...  especially useful for boxsets and bigger ticket items.

If in US or CA change the front two characters to those, for your local Amazon comparison...

No affiliation, just damn handy.

Kevin,

When you add on P&P VAT and getting hit buy HM customs its still ends up not cheap.

If people are happy to pay what Neil Young wants?

Don't put the hose down and keep on rocking in the free world.

Good luck to them.

He made six classic albums imo.

When I listen to some of the lyrics on Storytone I think Neil's out to lunch or maybe it's senility setting in or maybe he's just having fun with some new sounds and harmless tree hugger hippy lyrics. I just try to not take it too seriously and enjoy the good moments on the album. Hmmm maybe I'm entering senility. Damn I got to get that angry young man attitude back and slam Neil really hard for losing his edge.  But he seems so vulnerable.

I was with IT once! And then they changed what IT was! And now what I'm with isn't IT and what's IT seems weird and scary to me! And it'll happen to you!

Online computer games is IT. Ask Paul McCartney, who has a song specially written, featured on the latest "Halo" game.

A few years ago I thought I was a ''techster'', always ahead of the pack.

Now I'm at the stage where I'm starting to find a few things weird and scary. Either out of lack of interest or lack of cash I just can't keep up any more.

I'm starting to understand the look of fear on my parents' face when I told them, sooner or later, they'd have to replace their VCR by a PVR.

Given that, in my view, Mr Young's Pono project is an impending financial disaster, he could probably use the cash.

I no longer love him. But I'm sure he doesn't care.

Stu, I've used Pop Market about a dozen times the past couple of years and have never paid postage, and have only had to stump up import duty once. Coincidentally, it was for a pair of Neil Young albums.

I guess the point I was making was that "The River" is not the only - or the cheapest - place to buy vinyl.

Kevin,

I use a lot of sites and have used PM a few times but get family in NYC to buy and bring it over
