Superuniti has stopped playing streamed music

Posted by: tonym182 on 14 December 2014

Hi

I have a superuniti connected by a wired network to a synology ds212j Nas.

This has been playing without any problems using either media server on the disk station or Minimserver on the disk station.

Today I connected via the app - selected either media server or minim server which shows my music folders correctly . I then select a song and it flashes connecting on the su, then the song information shows and then it goes back to the view of the clock - obviously no sound out of the ovator.

It's probably a software update as the dsm updates automatically - this is so frustrating.

I have turned everything off , rescanned using minim watch, restarted all servers but still no sound.

DSM is at version DSM 5.1-5004 Update 2 which updated on the 29th november. I have been away so haven't played the system since about the 26th November.

Also, whenever I use the new app I have to manually add a room for the SU - the old app never gave me any problem.

Anyway the main problem is obviously the non- playing.

Oh, by the way I have checked the synology by loading the elite player and i can select the server and the music plays on the iPad so I'm thinking the SU may have an issue???

Any help would be great.

Thanks

Tony

PS SU is at v3.22

Try turning just the SU off and then on again.

Have you loaded the latest version of the app?

Hi HH

I have turned the SU on and off and on again - still no-go.

I do have the latest v of the app on my iPad.

thanks

Can you find the music via the remote?

Are the server and the SU on fixed IP addresses?

Hi HH,

Firstly, on the SU remote / front panel of SU I can select a track, it's when i press OK that it says 'connecting' then just reverts back to the clock screen

Secondly the SU is on dhcp and the synology is fixed

regards

When this happens to me, it's always been fixable by turning the SU off. If the SU can see the music, the server has to be ok, surely? Try fixing the IP of the SU, via the router and the front screen menu. You'll need to turn dhcp off. Other than that, I suggest a help call to Phil.

Try stoping Media Server on your Synology and then start Media Server again. If that doesn't help you can try uninstalling Media Server and reinstall it again.

I have had som problems with cover art where I had to reinstall Media Server.
