Spotify Connect Arrives for Naim Streamers

Its been integrated well, in my opinion.

Its enabled me to take the Sonos boxes out of my system,which I'm very happy about!

I can get rid of my Apple TV. Never liked the extra step and I always had to keep my iPhone in range plus that Spotify drained my battery very fast.

Is this similar to Airplay?

Have been enjoying Spotify Premium on my UQ for a few weeks now... Very nice, even if it is only 320k.

Installed on ND5 works perfect well done Naim. Very easy to use and step up in sound quality vs airplay to airport express with no drop outs and no battery drain. 

NDS connected all working fine.

Spotify Connect is similar to Airplay with one important difference: the audio signal is sent directly to the Naim streamer instead of going thru an iPad/iPod and receiving device such as Sonos or Apple TV.   The more direct path should result in better sound, or so we hope.  If nothing else, little plastic boxes can be removed from the audio rack for a cleaner look.     

Almost forgot... THANK YOU Naim!  Now I can finally justify buying a Naim streamer. 

Hi. Done the update on my Uniti Lite. All seems OK, but can't work out how I get it to play.

Have Spotify option on n-stream. When I select front panel of Uniti says Connect Spotify app. On the app I get launch Spotify app. When I play a song it plays through the phone.

I have Spotify Premium - is there a 'connect' I need to make in a setting somewhere?

to get it to connect to your UL you need to press the little speaker in a circle icon. see here:

It will then turn green and connect!

Have you enabled the Spotify Input in the App?

Go into Settings / Input Settings / Spotify and enable the input.

That should do the trick.

OK Fixed. Just realised the screen shot was from the Spotify app, not n-stream.

installed to both my UQ2 and 172XS with no issues - once I twigged it has to be driven from the Naim app. The Spotify Desktop Beta on my PC also controls it very effectively. Very happy, as I still need to extend my wifi out to my shed for the iPad to be able to control the UQ2, so I seem to have everything hunky dory.

Unclear which port to select in the installation wizard.

I suppose we select com10 serial port when we are using usb connection. Is this right?

Short Q:

Can i update my Superunity from version 3.21 directly to 4.1 or do I need to update to 3,.22 first?

Also there are 4 firmware versions to select. I am from Greece. There is a "E-europe" version. Is this version supports Greek characters? (previously unsupported)

Frits Van Der Veer,   you should be OK from 3.21

Try it,  once you have the USB & ethernet connected & you press the go button, if the UpDater can't start from 3.21 it will tell you, so then load 3.22 first.   

Update on UL today without any problems. Works great. Only no very smoothless volumecontrol in Spotify app. But via Naim app it works great. It took a while before launch but now we have Spotify during Chistmas. Thanks Naim team!
