Volume control using iPad buttons

Posted by: Goon525 on 21 December 2014

Almost everything is working perfectly with Spotify and the latest iOS app. It's handy to be able to control volume on my SU while in the Spotify app simply by using the physical up/down buttons on my iPad. But they seem to be set to go up or down by 6 or 7 levels on just one quick press - which is frankly too coarse to be useful. Anyone know if there's any way of varying this?

Oddly I run spotify connect through a mac mini and the opposite is true, if you adjust the volume with the phone it goes from where ever you are to zero then you have to press loads to get it to increase.

In short I do not have an answer.

I'm still thinking about getting a Mac Mini, and running it via my iPad, so that I, rather than Naim, can choose my streaming services. But then I see how good Naim's integration of Spotify is, and think, hmmm, let's leave it a few months and see what emerges.

I understand Spotify for exploring music, but why would you consider it seriously given the not optimal quality ?

Bert

There has been a long and detailed debate about this issue on this forum over the last few days. That's not what my question is about!

(But since you ask, I'm using lossless Qobuz for my 'serious' classical listening, and Spotify for less serious non-classical. I'm very impressed with the way Naim have implemented it, and whilst, yes, I'd like a lossless service built-in, I will be making use of Spotify until the dust settles - or I buy a Mac Mini.)
