System Pics 2015

Posted by: hungryhalibut on 21 December 2014

It's the 21st of December, so it's time for the new System Pics thread.

The SuperUniti and UnitiServe are the same as last year, but the Hutter rack and PMC twenty.23s are new.

May I suggest starting a separate thread, as System Pics is supposed to be simply that?

I found it made a very worthwhile improvement to the 282.  I got further, though smaller, improvements from putting the Napsc on my rack and plugging the PL for it into my dedicated rings-main. Last two tweaks cost nothing, of course.

Thanks, MDS - as advised I have deleted original post as inappropriate. Perhaps you could also make it disappear! I do have a single Powerline which is on the NAPSC.

Thanks Mr Fjeld; Airedale, but not yet fully grown in the pic..!

Bilf, is your isoblue hard up against the side wall?  If so, I'd be tempted to try it a little (a couple of cm) away from the wall.  I thought the system achieved some of its isolation with some small left/right movement/flexibility.

You are far from alone....

The T+A is replaced by a NDX after the Naim Android app came available btw.

Beautiful view.

even with the grills on...

Steve beat me to it but it bears repeating; that really is a beautiful view. Where in Switzerland are you, if you don't mind me asking?

If I might make a suggestion Robbo?  Putting the NDS on the top with the pre below it sounded quite a bit better in my set up so might be worth trying in yours.

Streamz; that's a nice looking system you have there in what appears to be a cosy room.

It's good to know we are not alone!

Hi Ian, thanks for the tip - I'll give that a go!

We live about half way between Geneva and Montreux, and the view is matched by a surprisingly great sounding room... The vectors and the system have never sounded better

Bellissimo!

Thanks for all the appreciative comments.... We actually only just moved into this house after a long and quite painful build project... Still some challenges on the horizon, but there are some recompenses too

the most pleasant and surprising for me (given the amount of glass and hard floors here) is the way the stereo sounds in this place...

Posted on: 05 February 2015 by Streamz

Indeed a stunning view. Enjoy!

Just noticed that the picture I've posted is even more dated than I thought. That's still my old house.

I do like the look of the Vectors. Very nice indeed.

Picked up these slabs last week for the Vectors. Need to decide which kind of cones I'm going to use.

They are indeed and have high WAF, at least in my house.  They are also surprisingly discreet but give out a far bigger sound than their modest dimensions would suggest.

Hi Robbo

are you above Morges, or somewhere nearby....

do you use the Naim folks in Lausanne or Nyon....

Bonsoir

Posted on: 05 February 2015 by robbo

Not bad guess!... we are near Aubonne.

I use the guys in Nyon.... you?

Posted on: 05 February 2015 by ameden

Fabrice and his Team are very good....

I used to live in Aubonne for a while...nice place...good cycle shop/s....

Now on the lakeside, nr Rolle plage

Nice system by the way...

Posted on: 05 February 2015 by robbo

We are quite close then, I am in Bougy (just moved across from Mont-sur-Rolle).

I see you had snow down on the lake-front too!

Rochat cycles, know it well :-)

Did you get the Roksan here... are there local dealers?  In the market for a new turntable, wondering whether I go the tried and tested Rega (RP10) route, or opt for something different like the Roksan or WB Circle.... Wishing I'd never sold my Aro now...
