System Pics 2015
Posted by: hungryhalibut on 21 December 2014

It's the 21st of December, so it's time for the new System Pics thread.
The SuperUniti and UnitiServe are the same as last year, but the Hutter rack and PMC twenty.23s are new.
Naim afloat.....a real treat after a hard day on the Locks

UQ2 and Totem Dreamcatchers
Ah, excellent Andy.
Good to see such an innovative approach to isolating your electronics from ground-induced vibrations.
A floating boat has to beat a spring mounted brass plate on Fraim, any day!
Best regards, FT

David Gilmour took floating isolation as straight to the source as possible.

How does the heat from the radiator affect all of this. I thought the kit was best away from a direct heat source.
The radiator does not affect it at all. The Fraim does not even get warm.

So you only play CD's?
Southwestokie - your cable dressing puts me to shame! Very nicely done!

It would appear so, I would have a vinyl deck if I had the room but sadly I don't ![]()

Thank you, fortunately you can't see the not so tidy bit at the bottom of the rack where there is too much cable and not enough floor space ![]()

What a difference six or seven weeks can make. I posted here at the beginning of Feb having made some changes to the system set up and here I am again with more of the same. Only this time, the 252 has been replaced with my dealer's year old 552; and what a replacement! I won't wax too lyrically about the changes it has brought as many others have already done that on previous occasions. What I will say is that, even though I have heard quite a few systems with 552s before, it is impossible to truly appreciate what one does until it's doing it in your own system.
I am a very happy bunny!

My small but mighty system: SN1, HC DR, TT with Ortofon bronze MM, Stageline N, Mac mini (exiled out of the living room) with audiophilleo 1 , B&W CM9

Cheers
Ralf
Very nice. Try the Stageline on the left, so it's not above the snait's transformer.
That turntable is gorgeous, what is it?

Hi HH, thanks for your advice. Previously the Mac mini rested on the left side. I always had a slight hum. That's completely gone since the mini is sitting in the other room.
Cheers
Ralf

Thanks dayjay. The TT is a "special edition" of a Block PS 100, finetuned by my Naim dealer. Tone arm is Pro-Ject with Ortofon bronze MM. I use also a carbon mat. This all fits very well with the Stageline. I bought this circa one year ago when I did find 25 forgotten vinyl albums in my garage. Sound is so great that I enhanced my LP collection to 160 at the moment.
Cheers
Ralf

Dreaming.
It's a real shame they dropped the rosewood Fraim.
I've been having a move around , it won't stay this way as I don't like the TV there and need longer speaker cable to move the Fraimlite .
