System Pics 2015

Posted by: hungryhalibut on 21 December 2014

It's the 21st of December, so it's time for the new System Pics thread.

The SuperUniti and UnitiServe are the same as last year, but the Hutter rack and PMC twenty.23s are new.

Finally it worked. My humble set UQ2 with neat motive SX1.

Nice room! What screen do you have?

Awesome room & set up Kiwi - wish my room was big enough to have a screen that size!

I'm more surprised that the little Qute can control the bass.

have you integrate the naim equipment and ovators with a surround amp? Looks awesome!

Sadly both systems completely separate.I felt my Naim gear needed a separate spur and Fraim to get the best out of it and that meant moving it to the av room, as previous room did not have the space.

That looks really nice! Must be great to have a separate room for music and film!

Thanks Mr Fjeld. At 56 it is nice to have such a special space. We all work hard and it nice to have something that gives ongoing pleasure and rejuvenation.

Actually there is 25 cm from rear wall, and 35 cm from side wall. The right speaker in the corner get sometimes boomy.

The speaker is lightning fast, with good bass extension. More detailed, and a bit leaner than the B&W, but still warm - no doubt the Accuphase has a significant effect.

Looks very nice.

Any chance of a pic of the rack head on?

What rack,is it?

Finite Elemente - I posted a picture in June. Still messing about with the set-up so not quite ready for a group shot.

Much simpler......

I am sorry but I think there is something rather magnificent about a big Naim on Fraim, its a real statement piece.  A little like speakers, they should say, "Hey over here, please listen to me"

I know I am old fashioned

But notice how HTM_1968 got his priorities right by retaining his Aro equipped LP12!

What amps are those? Was it the sound persuaded you or the simplicity? Or both.....

Very neat. I prefer simple, but as long as the end result (whether mountains of fraim or very little) delivers the musical goods then either approach is valid.

That's a pretty radical change!

Or even a Radikal change - his power supply seems to be missing in the now picture. Unless it's hiding in the cupboard...

There is a Radikal, a SimAudio Moon DAC, a SimAudio Moon renderer, a Nakamichi cassette deck and a collection of the odds and sods you need for playing vinyl (brushes, stylus cleaners, weighing scales etc) in the unit. It was purpose built for me to house the Hi Fi  and was finished to match the veneer used on my speakers as closely as possible. FWIW, the LP12 is in a walnut plinth, and the top plate on the Gato is also walnut.

There is a Gato DIA 250 and a Stax headphone energiser in the photograph. We moved house, I fancied a change, the Gato/ART/LP12 rig sound incredible and is zero faff. Simplicity is good, Nearly bought a Devaliet 400 instead of the Gato.....

I have to agree. There is something very appealing about a box count reduction.

The old SBLs were not happy.
