System Pics 2015

Posted by: hungryhalibut on 21 December 2014

It's the 21st of December, so it's time for the new System Pics thread.

The SuperUniti and UnitiServe are the same as last year, but the Hutter rack and PMC twenty.23s are new.

I use my untiqute 2 and a ipad to controll playback. The unitiqute is plugged into a nap 100 to drive my speakers. The are a set of XTZ 99.26 MKII. Probably not very well known outside of Scandinavia, but I like them alot.

After a few teething problems I am now very pleased with my setup and the Naim Ipad app works well.

Just updated the firmware and I now I can use Spotify to Discover new music.

All in all very happy With my Naim products

Very nice! I used to own a pair of XTZ 99.26 before I went to Ovators. Very very nice speakers, and incredible value for money. I also like your combination with the qute and U-serve

Happy new year all.

System hasnt changed this year apart from speaker positioning after our dishwasher flooded the living room, sounds better for the tinkering though :-)

Happy listening

Tyranniux - your sofa looks mighty close to your speakers.  I'm sure it's due to the camera lens, but how far back are you sitting?  How far are the speakers apart?

Hi Gavin, yes the 14mm doesn't help with perspective but you are correct, approx 1.5m triangle, you may be surprised to know that it still sounds fabulous

I'm pasting the HTML share link (@ 320x213) from Flickr and pasting into the insert picture url box, but no joy. Ideas anyone??

In the preview box I get a broken picture icon, followed by a preview of my image working correctly, then this:

"border="0" onload="ImageDialog.updateImageData(this);

" onerror="ImageDialog.resetImageData();" />

A new pair of S600's are settling in nicely replacing my faithful SBL's

Lovely. A system I would love to hear.  52's, 135's, and Ovators very very rare on the ground in my neck of the woods.

Now that looks quite good!

May I ask, did you try the Ovator 400's as well before settling on the 600's ?

ATB,

Mark

How do you feel them compared to old SBLs?

I want to know how you got flooring in the Ovator pattern!?!?!

Looks really good!

Which type of cups are they under you rack.

First post here - hopefully, I've got the picture thing right. Finally bit the bullet and joined the Naim acolytes this summer. My brother has the whole multi-power supply huge rack setup, but I started simple with a Uniti 2 and Neat Elite SX2 speakers and a RP6 turntable. Very happy with it. After reading all about Statement over the weekend, I do hope this isn't the start of a very steep and slippery slope :-)

Welcome to the madhouse!

A wall shelf for your Rega and a dedicated rack will do wonders for your new system.

Then sit back and enjoy it for a bit before you head down the slope!

ATB,

Mark

Oh you are on the slope now - no doubt!

But the advice Mark gave above is very sound & worth heeding.

Thanks. Rega wall mount ordered at the end of November, and sitting at the dealer, but waiting for all the Christmas impatience to be delivered. I'm in the "he can wait category"! Glad to be here. Guess I should get my skis on and be ready :-)

Thanks for your kind comment!

It was a case of what came first, the flooring or the Ovators? In any event they turned out to be a pretty good match. I just need Naim to start producing the Fraim in a similar finish and with my next purchase I'd have total co-ordination!!

I can't actually remember!? (Sorry). I bought them some time ago.

The discs under the speaker spikes are Atacama which I'd bought for my SBL's and seemed to work well compared to coins (or nothing) that I'd used before

For those of you that find the exposed layers of ply showing through on Titans an issue just take a look at these...

I'm not going to say who currently has them. :-D

Hi Phil.

Actually that is a really great finish, and here is me thinking that I'd never say that about Titans !  Enjoy Peter

Did I say I had them?

The person that has them (*cough*) doesn't have the room for other speakers and quite handily they work *REALLY* well in the available space - on the driving end of a pair of NAP300's too.

...all that's needed is to add a set of S10's as front and rear centre channels and a set of S20's as surrounds in the same finish.
