Classic Album Sundays

An interview with Colleen Murphy, the founder of Classic Album Sundays, and her vinyl collection.

"Colleens’ CAS listening sessions take place in cities all over the world and feature true high-end audiophile systems. It’s a great idea—the perfect meeting point of cool music nerds and lovers of art and technology."

I've been to a couple in London Richard - they are great fun, and well worth attending. What is interesting is that a lot of young(er) people attend, not just balding pot-bellied middle-aged men into Dire Straits...

Hi Kevin

I went to one event in London last year (Bob Dylan) and I am looking forward to going to another when I am down in London and there is a CAS event.

Never know might see you there one day?

Richard

I've been to a Talking Heads one and a New Order one. Both very good and would like to go again, so do let me know when you're thinking of going to another in London Richard...

I would also like to join you guys .... Hope we can arrange something in 2015.

I have been following the Dust & Grooves site for a while, they had a book launch in London last year which I missed I was also hoping for a copy of the book for Christmas which also did not happen

Hi Quad 33,

That would be great.

It will have to be mid week for me but I will keep an eye on the CAS website for some mid week dates.

Great,

As soon as i learn of more CAS London events I will update this thread.

At present there is only one scheduled on Sunday 11th January in London presenting Neutral Milk Hotel ‘In The Aeroplane Over The Sea’ which I do not know and also can't make.

i have no doubt Collen will be scheduling more and to wet your appetite in the last few months she has played The Clash, Pink Floyd, Bowie, Springsteen....

Cheers G - all the best to you as well.

I get regular emails from these guys so I will let you know of future playbacks. The next one, as Richard says, is the Neutral Milk Hotel album, which I'm not a great fan of, but there are usually about six sessions a year. Venue is usually upstairs at a place in Islington.
