The White Stripes.

what a stunning debut album. Why has it been so long since I listened to it?
The confidenece to put so much space in such propulsive music. A bit like "are you experienced" no matter how many times you hear it, it never looses its freshness.
It's a fine album. Elephant is my favourite Stripes record.
Apparantly Charlie Watts, Ringo Starr and the girl from White Stripes are to form a band, they are looking for a good drummer!

Yes, Jack should re-do the original White Stripes material with an actual drummer. I've previously been criticised on this forum for suggesting this. The logic is that "primitive" drumming (as demonstrated by Moe Tucker with VU) is a legitimate art form and suits the music. I beg to disagree, and enjoy the White Stripes in spite of the drumming.
Thanis SJB for reminding me of the album.
i lost thiis cd in my divorce, so will go buy it again today.
Great opportunity to replace it on vinyl or LP or analogue. The format very much suits this band In my humble opinion.
Jack recorded in analogue so vinyl is the ideal format.

LOL, saw them supporting the wonderful Jeff Beck (accompanied by Jennifer Batten and Imogen Heap) a few years ago. Even my daughter (who was the age group I assume they were aiming for) couldn't see what all the fuss was about. "Fraid I'm with French and Saunders where the "White Stripes" are concerned.
I decided to buy the remaining White Stripes albums I don't have, De Stijl and Icky Thump. While waiting for them to wend their way I had another listen to Blunderbuss. Another exceptional album. Such a wide range of styles and after many years in the business still knows how to rock.
Must also then get Lazaretto with the scary Dr. Who cover.

Don't miss Broken Boy Soldiers.
Love White Stripes and Jack White solo. White Blood Cells is my favourite though
