Qobuz rocking and rolling

Interesting very upbeat news on the Qobuz news web site.. apparently their turnover grow 55% during the year 2014, 2015; they say unparalleled in the industry. They seem to have seen month on month growth between 4 and 13% since last May.

They elude to the difficulties of 2014 without being specific, but imply they have been put behind them. Also intersting they acknowledge numerous streaming providers with little between them, whereas Qobuz want to stand out by focussing on quality of music.

They also mention the launch of 'widgets' to allow better integration with partners etc, and they are growing with 'hundreds' of new titles every day. They will also be introducing DSD downloads during 2015.. Wat will be pleased..

All in all quite a bullish and confidence inspiring message.

I use the French site too. Can you remember exactly how you managed to invoke the downloader?

Yes I bought some albums. And then pressed the dowload link with the type as flac.

Yes !!!

I have used the zip but its a PITA & I can't understand what takes so long over beta testing such a basic function

I have no issues using the Qobuz Downloader though it was slow this weekend probably due to their special offer. Last night it was OK again.

It does require you to install the downloader first found here http://www.qobuz.com/ie-en/sup...downloads/downloader

then you can connect it to the green download button. First time it will ask permission to start the downloader program.

I like the zip file - it works well in OSX it just expands on my NAS really easily by copying the album directory over to my music foler - and I don't need to worry about it. A whole album is downloaded at a time - neat and reliable.

Aleg, I have tried to do as you suggest, several times, but it doesn't work. When I queried it with Qobuz, I was told that the downloader 'no longer works for your country'. (I am in Ireland).

Today I had an email from them promising that a new downloader is imminent.

I didn't know they had local restrictions on the use of the downloader as I have been using it forever and reinstalled it recently as well.

But if a new downloader is imminent than all shall be solved for all ;-)

I am afraid until or if Naim do the Qobuz integration, you won't be able to play directly.

Simon, one other option is to use Asset UPnP server on a windows machine and use WASAPI to intercept the sound from the Qobuz desktop app making it available over UPnP. I use VMware fusion on an iMac running Windows 8 and then Splashtop remote control on my iPad to control the Qobuz app from my living room.  Works very well delivering excellent sound quality and pretty good usability compared to other methods.
