Heads up for Kraftwerk fans...

Posted by: Kevin-W on 24 January 2015

Next Friday (30th Jan) at 10pm on BBC4 there's a doc called Kraftwerk: Pop Art. No input from Ralf or Floz, but apparently lots of awesome clips, including the 'Werk jamming with Can in the early 70s, plus clips from the awesome 1981 tour, and the Tate Modern shows.

Should be a goodie!

After 'Sound of Song' which is set to focus in part on their genesis.

Bloody Banks, Collins and Rutherford seem to be everywhere at the moment don't they?

Thanks Kevin, the Tate show I saw with some Forum members was a wonderful experience. Looks like a very interesting programme.

Did anyone watch this programme?

Quite interesting to see influence of the band on so many different artists (including Coldplay!) and genres.

The commentators were mainly folks who were extreme fans, however it was interesting to see how the band deliberately withdrew from any media attention - even the band photographer mainly photographed the robots!

Still on iPlayer I think.

Indeed George. The band was conspicuous by its absence. Although I very much enjoyed seeing Holger Czukay's contribution, I wasn't that keen on the fans/talking heads, only Neville Brody and (occasionally) Paul Morley's rose above banal fandom.

Loved the clips though, especially the old stuff with Can and the footage from the magnificent 1981 tour.
