Uniti Serve Upgrade

Posted by: Giorgiott on 01 February 2015

Hi,

I'm finally trying to upgrade my US to 1.7b, currently at 1.6d.

Downloaded upgrade 1.7a and 1.7b from Naim web site. Got 2 iso files for 1.6g and 1.7a, plus 1 for 1.7b.

Burnt 1.6g (iso file) on CD, so now I have an ISO file (1.6G updater.iso) on the CD-R. I inserted it in the US and it was ejected after some 20 sec. On the n-Serve app on my Mac I can see the system message from the ripping subsystem "Data CD detected and ejected."

Needless to say upgrade on the US does not start.

If I mount the iso file on the Mac I can see some instruction pdf and an Upgrade dir. In this dir there are some zip files like "NSSRV_Upgrade_v1.6g_RC10_DotNet4.zip". Is this the file to be burnt to CR-R?

Or are the Windows upgrade files inside this zip that needs to be burnt to CD-r?

Thanks

If you're using a Mac, use Disk Utility to create a cd from the .iso file.  That will create a cd that can serve as an installer.

I burned the .iso update file on a Mac, and like you, couldn't get my Unitiserve to read it. I called Naim support, who told me that Macs aren't too good at handling .iso files and it's best to burn them on a PC. They kindly saved me the hassle of borrowing a PC by posting me a CD of the update, which worked without a hitch.
