Rupert -- you're 79?  That's cool.  Enjoy what you enjoy, and fill your life every day with music.

Have you tried headphones at home?  The car is a pretty closed-in environment. Maybe you'd like listening in home better with headphones.

Do you still prefer your black and white tellie to color?

I also prefer my car stereo to my home one. Not for SQ obviously, but my car stereo also comes with a really useful set of wheels, an engine and a whole bunch of other stuff that enables me to drive around, whereas all my lounge does is sit there. Honestly, it's rubbish. I go in it and when I leave, I'm still in exactly the same place: my hallway.

When will Naim fix this appalling oversight? Or must I live in a Bentley from now on?

Rupert, I struggle to imagine the type of response you're expecting to the subject you've brought up.  Some years ago now I was driving around in my companies pool car, and someone had left some of their CDs in the changer.  A song by Sugababes called 'Freak Like Me' came on (perhaps you know it?), and in the Ford Mondeo this sounded pretty damn good somehow, and I enjoyed it enough I played it again.  Listening to the same thing at home, it made a terrible noise, a harsh, screechy ruination of what I heard in the car.  It may be that the Honda would be equally talented with a track such as this, but in my experience such moments are very rare.  MP3 or otherwise.

Also, what happens if you play MP3s from the memory stick through the SU?  Still beaten by the Honda, or does that balance things out?

Call Mr. O'Reilly, I'm sure he could knock some holes in the living room walls for you

And there was me wondering what an ex saloon might be.

Has it decayed to a hatchback?
