New Features For Old

Posted by: alan33 on 16 February 2015

Nice to see the formal announcement for the NAC-N 272 posted on the Forum includes trickle down hardware technologies in the physical unit for new buyers (Statement-derived volume, eg) and enhanced firmware capabilities for existing compatible units too (DSD for SuperUniti and other SHARC-based DSP boxes, etc.). I appreciate this approach and level of care / support. Thanks, Naim! Best wishes with the new product launch.

The ability to upgrade to DSP software with the ND series underscores end user confidence in having bought a product that will be good for & supported into the future.

- THANKS NAIM

Now all we need is some go faster grease for the app UPnP f/w & s/w issues & the BBC web radio stuff.

I know that foobar and JRiver can stream native DSD but both of these UPnP servers are computer based only. Does anyone know of a NAS based UPnP server which can stream DSD  i.e. either from .iso or .dff files?

Minimserver does I think

MinimServer will certainly do that, and Asset UPnP is set to support DSD over PCM (DoP) streaming in an imminent release, provided that one's streamer can handle it.

Thanks for the replies. Good to see that Asset will be supporting DSD as I already have this installed on my QNAP NAS.
