iTunes Update Running Really Slowly

Posted by: Gavin B on 24 February 2015

I'm just downloading the latest update to iTunes.  It's running really, really slowly.  The last one did too.  My fibre broadband shows download speeds in excess of 20meg.  Has anyone else experienced this?  Is there anything I can do?

(I also recently updated the iOS on an iPad2 and it took over 30 hours!! (7.1.x to latest))

That is what happened to me too yesterday.

I think it is time Apple realised that they are not a software company and outsourced development.

Time after time we see reports of problems with their antiquate means of update delivery.

Yes - they make lovely packaging but come on - Sonos can do this with no bother.

You have fibre. My friend's wife's Ipad2 took a night to download upgrade as well the Iphone. While my Iphone took "only" one hour to download about 145 mega under wifi dsl.

Itunes download took half of an hour here with the same dsl.

I'm keeping my samsung notebook for the moment.
