Spotify Connect via Uniti Qute 2

Posted by: WCWL on 28 February 2015

I experience intermittent dropouts when I am using Spotify Connect with my Uniti Qute 2. I have no problems with Internet Radio and UPnP at all! Both are working perfectly fine! Am quite sure it's not a broadband issue... Any idea what could go wrong?

Is your Qute on version 4.0 or 4.1? If it's on 4.0 update to 4.1, there's a fix for this issue.

Yes, my qute is on 4.1 already!

You could try a full factory reset as per the sticky on current Spotify issues at the top of the forum...

I tried using my Mac mini to "Spotify" last night. It worked without the issue. Only when I am connecting Spotify to the Qute via Spotify Connect, the problem starts to arise. The sound drops every few seconds... However, I must say, it works sometimes during the day, but not in the afternoon or evenings. It's kind of strange!

You mean Factory Setting > Reset All Settings? Yes I did that a few times already..

Try doing so with Ethernet disconnected, this lets the streamer board reset too. Otherwise it's your internet connection, router issues or app related.

Thanks for the advice! I will try that now.

No, the problem remains. But I don't think is a broadband issue. Nor is it an issue of my router. (I am using Netgear R8000.) Everything is working perfectly fine, except this Spotify Connect via the Qute...

What device are you using Spotify on? Android or iOS?

Strangely enough, it works without the problem especially in the morning. It's been so for about a week now. Sometimes if I am lucky enough, I get to listen without the problem even at night

iOS. I use my iPad. I also downloaded the Naim app.

When you run into these issues with Spotify maybe try radio paradise 320k at the same time, if that has issues too then it could be your internet connection. You can also try running speedtest.net at times where the issue pops up and when it's fine, and compare speed results.

You could try reinstalling the Spotify app and see if that helps too.

Ok. I'll do that. Thanks. fYI. RadioParadise 320k has no issue.

Hi there,
I tried running the speed test when the sound began to stutter. It was at over 200mbps (wifi) and over 600mbps (cable). Also tried reinstalling the apps on my iPad. No improvement either. Is any chance that it is an issue with my Spotify account... (Of course I have premium subscription.)

Have you tried running your qute on a wireless connection instead?
Posted on: 01 March 2015 by WCWL
Yes I did. Still the same. But again I tried for a short while this morning before I go to work, it was performing well. No dropout. However I know when I go home this evening, the problem will reappear.

Well I'm all out of ideas sorry. Naim support or Spotify support would be where I would go from here.

Thank you so much for your help anyway!! Am thinking of taking it back to my dealer in Hong Kong.

hi there,

My Spotify is working now!! I did not take it back to my dealer. Instead I disabled "Spotify" in "Input Setting", and then re enabled it. Everything is working norma now!! I am very happy.
