Uniti

Thinking of buying either a unitiqute or a uniti. Do any of you have these units if so what do you think and how have they changed your music listening.

if you have the funds go for the uniti

it has a very transparent  powerful sound

the built in cd player takes its performance to another level

i find myself listening until late in the evening

its sound is very linear and sounds great  even at mod listening levels

I purchased a Uniti about a year ago and havent stopped listening to music since.

Compared to my previous system, the quality of what I was hearing vastly improved, which of course made listening to music a pleasure once again.

In terms of how it has changed the way I listen to music, I guess it has opened up a lot more possibilities of what and how.

I have a Sonos + Napster subscription plugged into it which is great for streaming new music, or even some of my back catalogue that I had forgotten about.

Internet Radio has brought me into new worlds and genres of listening that I wouldnt have considered before.

iPod connection is a nice touch. NAS I will be adding in to my system soon, followed ultimately by UnitiServe some time later this year (I hope!).

All in all, great quality music possibilities. Uniti vs Qute is the difference of CD player + beefier amp.

I guess ultimately it depends what system you are coming from and what your requirements are, but either unit I would really recommend.

Had the Uniti for over a year. As those above, I play loads more music now. It's on all day as I work from home. If I have to concentrate, it's usually just the radio (Radio 3) on as background. If not, I put "random play" on and see what I get from the NAS, with its 10,000+ tracks. Even the TV sounds great pumped through the Uniti.

Have now had a demo of the uniti and am very impressed. Will be going back next week for a demo of the qute. Am thinking of going the full hog and getting a unitiserve too. Just need to choose the qute or uniti.

Had my Uniti for all of 25 hours, obtained it from TomTom Audio yesterday - great service.

Have had it running from about 30 minutes after I got it home. The sound at this time is a little thin but I am still impressed. Only used the CD, Ipod and radio at this time (NAS etc yet to be purchased).

I was slightly sceptical about the SQ I would be getting against the convenience of such a device (trade in of CD5X etc....). Already I hear I had no need to worry - musical connection!

I am sure this had been said many times before but... "more than the sum of it parts" absolutely sums it up.

I had planned to upgrade with a NAP 200 in tow - not so sure I need it now - but then again the upgarde bug may yet again strike. All the same very happy!

Unitiqute is such a beauty. I heard it drive a pair of Cambridge Audio Minx (with sub woofer) at my dealer's show room.

It just wowed every visitor there with such beautiful music from those relatively humble speakers. It is also upgradable via digital out to a nDac too, which the Uniti doesn't offer.

However for a one-two box solution, Uniti is quite outstanding. It packs so much in it that upgrading it is a headache as you will need to change so much in one big step!

I've had the Uniti for almost a year now and can't help smiling every time I turn it on. It is a thing of beauty, the most complete source component ever and the sound is so lively but never tiring. If you catch upgradeitis just plug in a power amp and voilĂ ! Le endless parade of power amps! I've used it with six different ones over the past year only to keep coming back to the Uniti as a one box. Still saving up for a NAP though

Add a Nap 200, simple upgrade - dramatic results.

Fantastic.

Do you think the NAP 250 upgrade instead of the 200 would be overkill?

Is Unitiqute or Naimuniti good enough to enjoy higher resolution files? Do you hear noticable difference between 44.1kHz/16bit and 96kHz/24bit files? Is it worth to buy higher resolution files in that case?

Don't know but the 200 is lovely Tog
