We want TIDAL!
Posted by: andrew0810 on 11 March 2015
Well, we have our Naim hi-end amps, our Naim hi-end DACs, our Naim hi-end PSUs and all kind of stuff. But we have Naim hi-end STREAMERS too. And now, there's a hi-end streaming service, called 'Tidal' at hand - and guess what? We cannot use it! Because our multi-thousand-bucks-streamers are determined to play low-fi 'Spotify' only... Something's wrong here, isn't it?
So come on Naim! We want Tidal! And we want it NOW! Give it a try...
Hi.
I don't want tidal.
Therefore you are not speaking for me.
Thanks.
Actually I think Spotify Premium is pretty value for a tenner a month. Maybe not CD quality but not bad all the same. Tidal is available on other devices. It's not as though you had your arm twisted to buy a Naim streamer.
Dave
I want Qobuz! Actually, Naim are working on integrating hi res streaming, but as The Smiths would say, How Soon Is Now?
I've ditched Spotify, as it sounds so ropey.
Any takers for Deezer Elite?
Dave
Tidal IS coming. I've heard it from the horses' mouths. And I'm sorry for calling any of those nice gents "horses."
Must be the set-up?
Dave
I'm sorry, who are "we" exactly? Would it be "you" by any chance? Don't want, don't care, not interested. Nobody speaks for me except me.

Well, actually 'we' in this case means the Naim-users who want to use Tidal with their Naim-streamers. And yes, I am one of them. And you are not. So, as you are not a part of this group, nobody speaks for you, of course...
Can you figure this out, Sir?

Dave,
using Naim with Spotify is like driving a Ferrari with one cylinder, imho...
Naimees who want to use Tidal, have to buy yet another device? Not a serious argument, regarding quality, reputation and price of Naim-equipment...
... And yes, I am one of them. And you are not. So, as you are not a part of this group ...
Do you have some kind of multiple personality disorder, I see no evidence of a group.
PS: Qobuz for me!
The more the merrier, but Qobuz first please.
Keith
Then don't use blanket terms to put words into other peoples' mouths.

They would say it in a very miserable, depressing way too

Erm, ok, citizen andrew.

Anger management, anyone? Remember, we're talking about streaming...

Maybe a better comparison would be running a Ferriari on the wrong grade of fuel. You can but you won't achieve maximum performance.
Spotify was maybe aimed more at the Muso market but as we know streaming services have moved on. Time to buy that Sonos Connect maybe.

Just a bit of common sense really. As in not pretending to be someone you're not. Like for instance, a spokesperson for the forum.
Delusional much? Still, it takes all sorts I suppose.

at least some kind of solution...

I'm with you on this. So that makes it 'we'. Not garyi of course, because he enjoys being disagreeable.

1) We're still talking about streaming.
2) You, Sir, are obviously lacking any kind of humour.
3) Sleep well (or not).

Martin,
many thanks to you. Now we can start a revolution. :-D

Old joke, his catch phrase was "power to the people" saw himself as something of a spokesman...

Count me in as a member of the group as well. I too want Tidal (or Qobuz) integration asap.
My - isn't this becoming a big group!
I already have potential access to Tidal from my Linn streamer. I would love to have it available on my Naim streamer as well. Either that or Qobuz on both platforms.
Until then I am using Spotify Premium on both streamers for £9.99. It's worth the money, but I would ditch it in favour of the higher quality Tidal or Qobuz services if they were available on both platforms. I'm beginning to wish I had gone down the Auralic route rather than Linn or Naim - I would already have access to all 3 platforms.
