Muso Failing to connect to iRadio

Posted by: jasons on 17 March 2015

Hi all,

Got our second Muso, however, it really struggles to connect, no matter what time of day.

It even got to the point where i have run an additional cat5e cable around the house for it, to remove it from wifi.

The lounge unit (which is closer to the router) seems to run fine.

I have reset the unit, and the app, however it still takes a long time to connect, and even now, the radio stations are not loading.

App is the latest 4.4 and i guess the firmware is original as there hasnt been any updates yet.

Once it is up and running, if i put the unit into standby from the app, the app closes but the unit is still playing??!?!

When I had a muso,  it fared way better on wifi than with hardwired for connecting web radio stations. Give it a try, you may be pleasantly surprised.

Sorry for second time. On the last point, it is bizarre as when you put it into standby, app (I was running an older app version at that time) should not close itself. You should be able to see muso figure on the app.

Hi thanks.

Yes ill try again with wifi, although i thought that might have been the reason and so i hard wired it.

The App closes down to the home screen with the two listed when i press the standby button, however the unit keeps playing. It is only when i reopen the app for that particular unit and do it again that it switches off.

So the app does not turn itself  off (crash) when you put in that command. I understand you run the two at the same time. It may be a s.ware glitch. But not sure. You'd better contact the support.

Hi,

It's much easier to spot requests for support if we are contacted directly (hence the sticky at the top of the forum) as we don't actively monitor the forums - however this one was flagged to me by our MD...

If we can address one issue at a time then perhaps we can get some clarity on where any problem(s) lie so as a first thing can I get you to do the following...

1) Can you take the mu-so, put it beside your router and connect it directly to your router with a wired Ethernet cable (not the new cable that you have run).

2) Power it up and allow it to connect to your router via the wired network. (i.e. The network status light on the side should be solid white.)

3) From the top panel controls turn the unit on and select the Internet Radio input.

Does your unit connect to Internet Radio?

Can you change between the first five presets using the 'radio' icon on the controls?
