We Want Naim's Parent Company to also Purchase Sonos

They need to acquire Sonos and then have n-Stream embedded into the Sonos application. Also, have Naim produce a high end version of the Connect.
Yes… I am speaking for everybody who ever read and/or posted on this forum. It is for your own good that I've taken this liberty.
......gets my vote!
I know I speak for everyone when I ask "What exactly is a Sonos?"
What's n-Stream?
@Hungryhalibut: There already exists a user friendly solution called USB wine. Could be integrated into the USB port of the Uniti range.
With 2013 revenue of USD 535m, and 2014 rumoured to be even better, it would take a company the size of Google or Apple to buy Sonos. The company sold some secondary stock at the end of last year allowing staff and early investors to cash in and reducing pressure on it to IPO.

I can still show you on both my iPad and my iPhone!
So far I've managed to avoid the 'update all' option.

I eluded to this in another SONOS string a while back. SONOS has a pile of cash as Greg points out. If they ever deliver a HI-FI range product Katie bar the door in our little world. Hell the Connect is pretty damn close as it is with correct attention to detail.
Obviously, Sonos does things quite right...

Révolutionnaire !
@mackb3 As you pointed out with the right mods people are getting very close to NDX/NDS level on CD quality material. It really wouldn't be that hard for Sonos to launch a hi-fi Connect.
Better clocks, a linear power supply, better physical connectors and 24-bit support. With Tidal launching an MQA service and Qobuz considering it, MQA support would also be nice. I'd happily pay USD 1000-1500 for that :-)
I'm not surprised they are doing so well. The software is superb. The whole implementation across hardware and software is unpretentious, devoid of frills, packed with services, and it just works. When they incorporate the ability to crunch at 24bit the curve is only going to get steeper.

So a company with £21M turnover is going to purchase a company with £300M+ turnover and a very different customer base?
If Naim's parent company were to consider such a move, I think Naim would be swallowed up and disappear. Do you think an investment company would put much time and effort into it when they've got a company 15x the size to worry about?
It would be a terrible move for Naim. You certainly don't speak for me in this regard
HH,
It needs to have a red/white selector to keep everyone happy. Plus a CO2 injection capability so that it can make faux champagne.
Er . . . Focal & Co and their investors certainly could not buy Sonos. No VC would fund that. It would be like Morgan buying Mercedes.
Sonos could buy Naim pretty easily though. Basically that would be chump change for them, and actually not a bad idea if they want a halo brand. I'm guessing they have other plans though.

They posted $353 million in 2013
Could they buy HSBC too so we could borrow money to buy our Naims cheaper and so that HSBC pays its tax and doesn't sponge off the rest of us
(Interesting isn't it that some see the irony in the OP post (cf We Want Tidal - er not)) and others have taken it seriously!

Like with a cheeky wink as opposed to self transiting bluster. Yeah, missed that completely. Good job you spotted it.
Er - I don't understand that Harry!!
"self transiting bluster"? What's that when it's at home?
@Mike-B
If you're referring to Sonos revenues, it was reported as $535m in 2013. If a VC wants to buy Sonos then they'd just make an offer, they don't need Focal & Co.
Aside form the ironic OP, it's interesting to consider how Naim could develop. If they can build a super-high-end brand position with the likes of the Statement and the Bentley tie-in then a company like Sonos might see them as a takeover target. Sonos is sitting on a pile of cash and will want to IPO at some point, so it makes sense to extend the customer offer above the Sonos brand to the true high end. Naim or Linn could make great halo brands.
Naim would probably make us add power supplies and turn the Sonos 5 , from a one box to a 6 box system !
One example of an existing vertically integrated hi-fi company is the Lenbrook Group. Customers can start with a Bluesound system, move up to a NAD based system and eventually a NAD Masters with PSB speakers. Or they can mix and match according to their multiroom needs, because the units are compatible with one another.

I'm not surprised you don't understand it, given that it's gibberish! Auto correct gone bonkers. Self aggrandising - is what I typed. Originally. Before I hit submit without reading it back.

Thanks for explaining it, Harry. Thought I was going bonkers. Like the irony too!
