My plan is... A secondhand unitiqute and if it sounds nice run my fronts through it, then at a later date add a nap250, then a pre, so the qute then becomes a source then eventually replace it, and make it a very nice second room system.
Dos this seem ar ask a or path?
The Qute will always make a nice second system. I wouldn't ask too much of it as a source for a higher end system, fronting a NAP 250 and nice speakers. But if you need to just add a piece at a time, your path sounds reasonable.
Welcome to Naim!

Put a Hugo in the middle and it starts to get really interesting
They really are from two different parts of the Naim ecosystem.
However it is very Naim to be considering an upgrade for a product you haven't even bought yet!

I would suggest you think we'll about this. Apparently you have a certain endgame in mind, which might lead to starting better off with a 272 assuming it's a great device (we haven't heard it so far). If you stay with your path it looks a bit like a potential range of lost investments...
A 250 is a big jump up from a Unitiqute, but if it gets you to the level you want to reach without several costly intermediate upgrades, I can see the sense in it. It does, however, go against the 'source first' principle - but then, rules are made to be broken, so if it works for you, fine. As the UQ has both digital and analogue inputs, it would, I think, also be possible to follow a 'source first' upgrade path: for example, add an NDX, then a NAC 282, then a 250. Then, if you still want to go further, add power supplies and a DAC. Then when you're bankrupt, sell up and get a Superuniti!
