Time Display
Posted by: Wheretonow on 25 March 2015
I have recently joined the Naim fraternity - 4 weeks ago - with a Uniti 2. For several weeks the time display showed correct time in sydney (aus) AEDT. Then it fell back one hour. There has been no change to daylight saving etc. The Uniti displays in settings (clock and alarm) 10 hrs ahead of GMT. I have read many comments from people about daylight saving issues etc to no avail. When I try to adjust (in change Time Zone) to +11 or in fact any other, the change does not hold. the uniti always reverts to a flashing +- 10. In advanced settings there are two time servers. Selecting either has no effect. I have tried switching off the equipment without effect.
I do not think there is a network problem. I am wirelessly connected and have no issue with internet radio. I have wirelessly connected to the one router, a Mac computer, Ipad, air printer and the Uniti 2. Is this at all significant. Note, no problem in using the Naim app for selecting function, volume etc.
Can anyone make a suggestion before I return unit to shop (140 Kms away) as advised by retailer?

It would be easy, if the adjust time zone option existed.

The point I made earlier is that it's a complete faff to do a factory reset, retuning all the radio stations etc, not that it doesn't fix the clock not updating itself. I'll probably end up doing that again, but it takes too much time up....

Got the same problem here with my unitiqute - time has not updated to BST and can not manually update timezone - very frustrating being as it's the only clock in the room.

I switched the clock display off when in standby
No time is better than the wrong time
Will rectify its self when the clocks go back

GMT plus 2 hours holding on all devices in France (altitude 10m above sea level). So far so good.

Strange - I vaguely remember when I installed the latest app version there was a pop up window asking me if I wanted to update to daylight saving automatically. I clicked yes and it seems to have worked. Maybe uninstalling and reinstalling the app would work for those having problems?

A nice idea, but it hasn't fixed the problem. Re syncing from the web still gives GMT.

Same thing here for both SuperUniti and UnitiQute - cannot change to daylight savings time ...
Must be a software bug .... Will notify Phil.

The J Savillle response some days ago is the only current solution from my experience Network reset. Forget time servers, internet re sync etc.

If you read his response, you will see that his final sentence advises you to reset the time zone. The whole point is that the facility has disappeared, so you can't. His response is therefore not a solution in this case, unfortunately.

FYI:
Phil notified me that Naim is already looking into the time setting issue, so they are working on it. No clue, when a solution is ready though ...

The clocks go back in seven months, at which time the clock will be right again.

Hi Guys,
If you are having problems changing your time offset please do a factory reset on your unit and then you should be able to adjust (and save) the time adjustment ...
Cheers

Again .. please factory reset your unit .. choosing "Yes" from the app for enabling DST removes that option from the menu so the factory reset will bring it back.

Hi HH...
In that case you must have changed the IR codeset that you were using from the remote at some point ... power off the unit and then power it up again and whilst the Naim logo is showing on the display point the IR remote at the unit and press "aux", "i" and "disp" simultaneously to reset the IR remote codeset.
Cheers

Thanks Phil, I couldn't remember which buttons to press.
Following ng all this palaver, the time is showing correctly, but I've lost all my presets. Never mind - one day it will all be automatic. Lucky you were at lunch when I called!

That's odd ... I don't 'do' lunch and even if I was on another call you should have been able to leave me a voicemail.

The nice lady said you weren't there and I should call in half an hour. Perhaps she thinks you should have lunch.
