ND5XS display kaput

Just got home to a jumbled screen on my unit. Tried the on off trick now the display is solid green every pixel. Anyone else encountered this? Unit sounds fine but looks like it needs a trip home

Might be worth a search, but IIRC there were threads on display issues on these units which was down to a connector on the ribbon cable between the main board and front panel needing re-seating.

ah right, thanks for that James i wasn't aware of an issue. Ive emailed some photos in to HQ but pretty sure it needs a visit.  I will speak to my dealer at the weekend and drop it off.

I had a flickering LCD on my previous Qute1 which randomly lost parts of the display. I was set to ship it back to Naim when without doing anything  except turning it off for a few hours, it rectified itself and never occurred again.

thanks Gary I did try leaving it off overnight then back on.  Even less of the display was awakened.  Had a very quick reply from HQ saying that it was probably homesick and needed a visit so dropped it off to the dealers Saturday.  Fingers crossed for a speedy return.

The ribbon-cable in my NDX disconnected once after the unit came back from service (probably due to an overactive courier). The screen would'nt light up, only the right and the down arrow button did.

I had to send it back to the distributor (Latham in Holland) to get it fixed, and then they had it deliverd back to me by one of their one technicians. Great service!

I've had two screen faults with the NDS. It's likely (but never certain) to be a cable or logic board.

I have had a "bleeding" display on my NDX. Had to go back to Salisbury, apparently a ribbon cable that comes loose on earlier models. As ever, corrected by Naim and no trouble since.
